Proverbs around the corner

"Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive tons of shit."

Why do we even bother

Why do we even bother to lift our asses from the bed each morning? Why do I bother to wake up and sleep walk to the kitchen and prepare breakfast? It was gloomy bit breezy morning of October 21, 2008.
Weatherman said it'll snow, still gloomy, but no snow yet. Winter is coming, people. Get your warm clothes, prepare your hats and mittens. It is going to be a snow fight soon :)
I need to wake up... I smell coffee... Need a cig...

Living Next Door to ...

"Oh, I don't know why she's leaving, Or where she's gonna go, I guess she's got her reasons, But I just don't want to know, 'Cos for twenty-four years I've been living next door to Alice. Who the fuck is Alice?" This is what we sing at the karaoke he he.
Living next door to someone is a privilege and also a burden. Nowadays, getting to know our neighbors is a weird, scarce chance in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
In old times, Mongolian nomads, used to know each other well, even though the next door neighbor would be in 2-3 km. Strangers were no strangers, people were friendly and warm.
What happened when people started urbanizing? They have become more estranged, more cold to next door neighbors. One barely seen its next door neighbor.
We need good relationship with our neighbors, but when you approach someone, they'll raise their eyebrows, be shocked and close their door on your nose.
So weird. It used to be so different, when I was a child. I used to play with girls from my apartment building. And now, I am afraid to let my child go outside by its own. Mistrust, fear have grown deeply in our hearts. What to do?

My Heart

My heart is empty and its lost
In the midst of the frost
Paused its search for love

Made In Mongolia

It has been almost a year, since I started this blog. When I look back, most of my articles were somewhat criticizing. I do like to criticize, but obviously there has to be some threshold to it. I do not manufacture anything, I do not produce and goods or services, in fact I do not contribute any good ideas or solutions to the society. So who am I to criticize? However, this is my personal space, thus I write whatever I want to, that is to exercise my freedom of speech. :)

Anyways, this time I want to write something that I and my fellow citizens of Mongolia all should be proud of.
1. Trolleybus. We are making our very own trolleybus. Previously, Mongolia imported trolleybuses from Russia. Now, we can produce electricity and trolleybus domestically, making some part of our public transportation independent from fuel (mostly imported from Russia) and machinery (also imported from Russia).

2. Cashmere products. As the world knows, Mongolia is famous for its good quality, low price cashmere products. There are many manufacturers that produce fashionable goods from cashmere, such as Gobi, Goyo, Altai Cashmere, etc. Only things missing here are good marketing techniques and competitiveness.

3. People. Given the rough weather, high inflation, low salaries, and inadequate health services, Mongolian people are still striving to live full life. We see light in every darkness comes upon us. We jumped with joy when Mongolians won two gold medals from Beijing Olympics. We forgave the Government for the July 1 riots and 6 deaths. Every citizen is doing his/her best to contribute to the economy, to better their lives.

4. Sumo. Mongolian wrestlers are dominating Japanese Sumo!

These are only few examples of things that makes me cry when our national anthem sounds.
I am proud to be Mongolian!

Bye My Friend

Well, it has been almost half-year, since my friend Ots started whining about my blog. He said it was interesting, but it was all about me. He didn't like the fact that there was nothing about my friends, especially about him he he. So, here we go. This piece is dedicated to you Ots :)

He worked with me for the last 13 months. We shared the same office hall, same interests, same smoking area, and in fact, we had same type of cars. We used to be good friends, smoking buddies, gossipers, and coworkers. His wife is pretty and successful, his son is cute and clever. He has a good career ahead of him. I envy him :)
Unfortunately, he left us for better future. I obviously support his decision and wish him well. All of us at the company, wish you good luck and will always miss your distinct laugh Ots :) Hope we will remain good friends for many years to come!

Cheers!
