Proverbs around the corner

"Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive tons of shit."

Environment vs. Health and Entertainment

With coming of cold seasons, we are all petrified of bad pollution in UB. Many projects are racing time to reduce the pollution that hunts down the UB with winter. Most of these projects are environmentally friendly, for example Mongolian First Wind Park project, that deploys renewable energy source of wind to generate the electricity, without using any coal or fuel. There are many others that either try to reduce the air pollution by not burning much coal, or trying to modify the traditional way of burning coal, such as coal briquette. One noteworthy project is Ski Resort in Bogd Mountain area. The Bogd Mountain lays in special protected area. Citizens are devastated about the environmental damage that Ski resort project is causing to special protected area. However, the developers are arguing that this Resort will provide the UB citizens with new, healthy way to spend their leisure time. It makes me sick how they are trying to persuade the ordinary people. Is it going to be affordable to ordinary citizens? I don't think so. Logically thinking, it will be expensive to ski on that resort, as the developers will try to earn as much as possible to cover their construction costs. I would not be amazed, if few hours of entertainment in the Ski Resort will cost about 40,000 - 50,000MNT. So, those who are struggling with everyday life cannot simply afford to go there once a year.

So, for whom this Ski Resort is being built? For rich and foreign? Therefore, is it OK to devastate the wild nature to make entertainment for minority?

First Gold Medal

First ever Olympic Gold medal for Mongolia was won by N. Tuvshinbayar yesterday at Beijing Olympic Games 2008 in Judo 100kg wrestling competition. Mongolia in its Olympic history never won a gold medal, and yesterday was the first time. The whole nation watched the match with excitement. After winning of the medal, everybody celebrated the golden moment. Residents of UB gathered at Sukhbaatar squire to cheer and celebrate its national glory. Even the President, Mr. Enkhbayar, Prime Minister, Mr. Bayar was there, half-drunk cheering for Tuvshinbayar.

It was weird to think that only a month ago, this square was a "battle" ground for clashed between public and police, where 5 people where shot dead by the police. Now, it was filled with joy, cheering and happiness.
This man brought to its nation not only the gold medal, but unity, peace and joy to the minds of the common. Let's cheer and pray for him and other members of Mongolian team in Beijing!

Losing Weight

I am trying to loose weight. There are many and many ways to do that according to media. The easiest ones are to take pills, and wait for them to work the wonders on your body. Hardest ones is to get on diet and exercise. I have been fighting my weight off for long time now and tried many ways. Took pills that suppressed my appetite. It worked, but when the pills are finished, I got back on old eating habits. I eat much more when I am stressed or depressed. The pills are expensive. You cannot take the through your whole life, that's for sure, as they will damage your liver and other internal organs. I also tried exercising in gym with my friends. Then again, I couldn't keep it up as a routine. I didn't have strength and consistency to exercise. I have low self esteem and too weak to exercise on my own without anyones' force. Next, I tried to go on diet. And again, failed. Whenever I got stressed I wanted to eat, especially sweet things. I know I have to treat the roots of my mental instability and be as relaxed as possible. However, my life does not permit me to do so for now. I do not know if it in future. So you can easily see how weak willed I am. Now, I have put another goal to loose some weight, but not sure to which type of loosing I should stick to. My friend is suggesting me to go swimming. I hope I can have time to do so and will do so. Will get back with the results he he. Please scold me if I'm getting off my truck and support me. Thanks! :)
